Terms of Use

By creating an account, uploading documents, or otherwise using DocAssist ("the Service"), you agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and DocAssist regarding your use of the Service and supersede any prior agreements.

DocAssist is an AI-assisted document tool that allows users to:

• Upload and store identity or personal documents (e.g. CNIC, passports, degree certificates, bank statements) in My Documents
• Optionally extract structured data fields from those documents using AI, on a per-document basis
• Save extracted or manually entered data to a personal profile
• Auto-fill forms and generate Ready Answers using saved profile data
• Convert, merge, split, rotate, rearrange, and edit PDF files

The Service is provided via a web application accessible at the DocAssist domain. Features may be updated, added, restricted to paid users, or removed at any time.

To use DocAssist, you must be at least 18 years of age. DocAssist involves handling official identity documents such as CNICs and passports which are issued to adults in Pakistan. By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or older.

When registering an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Keep your password confidential and not share your account with others
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to refuse registration or cancel accounts at our sole discretion.

You agree to use DocAssist only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Upload documents belonging to another person without their consent
• Use the Service to commit fraud, identity theft, or any illegal act
• Knowingly submit falsified or altered documents for extraction or auto-fill
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or exploit the Service
• Upload malicious files, malware, or harmful content
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity of the Service or its servers
• Use automated bots or scripts to access the Service without prior permission
• Attempt to bypass usage limits, Pro plan restrictions, or payment requirements

All content, code, design, logos, and technology that make up DocAssist are owned by or licensed to DocAssist and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for your personal or professional use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our express written permission.

You retain ownership of any documents or data you upload. By uploading, you grant DocAssist a limited license to store and process that content solely to provide the Service to you.

DocAssist uses third-party AI models to read documents, extract data, and identify form fields. By using these features, you acknowledge and agree that:

• AI output can be wrong. Extracted text, dates, names, numbers, and matched form-field values may contain errors, omissions, or misreadings — particularly for handwritten text, low-quality scans, unusual document formats, or unfamiliar forms.
• You are required to review all AI output before use. You must personally check every extracted or auto-filled value against your original source document before saving it, downloading it, printing it, or submitting it anywhere — especially for official, legal, financial, academic, immigration, or visa-related purposes.
• DocAssist is a productivity aid, not a certified or legal document processor. It does not replace professional review, notarization, or official verification where required.
• You bear sole responsibility for any document, form, or submission you create, download, or send using data from DocAssist, whether or not that data was AI-generated.
• No liability for AI errors or misuse. To the maximum extent permitted by law, DocAssist, its developer, and its service providers are not liable for any loss, rejection, delay, financial harm, legal consequence, or other damage arising from inaccurate AI extraction, incorrect auto-fill, your failure to review output, or any misuse of generated data.

Your use of DocAssist is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

In summary: we collect your account info, saved documents and extracted profile fields; we do not sell your data; documents remain stored until you delete them; and you can request full account deletion at any time.

DocAssist offers a Free plan and a paid Pro plan. The Pro plan is a one-time 30-day activation (currently Rs. 290), with no automatic renewal or recurring subscription. Specifically:

• Pro is activated manually after you send payment via Easypaisa and confirm via WhatsApp
• Pro unlocks AI scans, form auto-fill, Ready Answers, and expanded document storage (up to 10 documents), subject to monthly usage limits
• Your profile and stored documents remain accessible after Pro expires — only the AI-powered features pause until reactivation
• We do not store your payment card or mobile wallet credentials
• Pricing, limits, or the payment method may change; we will display current pricing in the app before you pay

All payments are generally non-refundable. However if you believe there was an error or duplicate payment, contact us within 48 hours and we will review it on a case by case basis. Refunds are at our sole discretion.

DocAssist is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully secure
• AI extractions, auto-fills, or generated answers will be accurate or complete
• The Service will meet your specific requirements or be accepted by any third party, government body, institution, or form recipient

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DocAssist disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DocAssist and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:

• Data loss or document loss
• Rejected, delayed, or incorrectly submitted forms or applications
• Financial loss, visa or admission denial, or other consequences resulting from AI extraction errors or auto-fill mistakes
• Loss resulting from your failure to verify data before submission

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to DocAssist in the 30 days preceding the claim, or Rs. 290, whichever is greater.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DocAssist and its developer from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your submission of false, fraudulent, or unauthorized documents.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us or using in-app deletion options. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data, including saved documents, will be deleted from our servers within 30 days.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Pakistan. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pakistan.
